Miyahead Privacy Policy

Overview

Miyahead is a phrase interpretation, online translation, and language practice app for short Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese communication.

The app does not require an account. Built-in phrase search, saved cards, favorites, and fixed conversation practice work without sending those saved local records to a developer server. Online translation and online AI conversation send the text needed for the requested translation or reply to the Miyahead AI Proxy.

Data Collection

The app may store favorite phrase IDs, selected interpretation history, saved learning cards, and settings locally on the user's device.

When a user chooses online translation or online AI conversation, Miyahead sends the input text and selected language direction to the Miyahead AI Proxy so the app can return a translation or practice reply. The app does not require a user account and does not add advertising identifiers or analytics SDK identifiers to these requests.

Speech and Microphone Use

Miyahead requests microphone access to record short phrases for recognition. It requests speech recognition access to convert short Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or Cantonese phrases into text for phrase matching.

The app does not save audio recordings and does not upload audio recordings to a developer server. If the user starts online translation after speech recognition, the recognized text may be sent as text for translation.

Image Text Recognition

Miyahead can read text from a user-selected image with on-device Apple Vision text recognition.

The app does not save selected image files and does not upload selected images to a developer server. If the user starts online translation from recognized image text, the recognized text may be sent as text for translation.

Third-Party Services

The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting SDKs.

Online translation and online AI conversation use the Miyahead AI Proxy, which sends the requested text to OpenAI API to generate translations and practice replies. The OpenAI API key is stored only on the server side and is not embedded in the iOS app.
